We had to show the cousins the best playground in NYC – so off to Brooklyn to find slide mountain, the swing zone and the cute little cabins in the sand at Brooklyn Bridge Park/Pier 6. And of course while there we had to take them to Jane’s Carousel – that great big beautiful merry-go-round in the glass box by the water that we’ve blogged about so many times before!

This is seriously the best kept secret in New York. While it’s an ideal play spot for kids under age 5, I still think Ezra would get a lot of mileage out of many of the toys. The Heimbold Family Children’s Learning Center is on the 4th floor of the Scandinavia House on Park Avenue – and requires a membership if you visit on weekdays, but costs only $8 to visit on Saturdays. There’s a play store, kitchen, lego area, dress-up area, wood train, giant mushroom to sit in and even clogs to try on! Zoe and her friend Mia had a great time while their big siblings were still in school for the day. I will have to take Ezra here sometime to test drive the trains and the lego table. Heck, he’d probably love the clogs too.
