Even though the temps were warm, we could do a few wintery NYC things like ice skating in Bryant Park. A February-break staycation is always fun when you get to catch up on city outings like this, and the rink wasn’t even crowded with tourists shockingly!

Well it’s been a mild winter so far, and today the temps are in the 60s – which I’m kind of digging. But tomorrow we are meant to have a snow day off… will it happen? Will we have another day like the one shown below.. which was back in the beginning of January and blew away within a day? Or will it linger? With all that’s been going on here, I’ve been slow to put photos on the blog (sorry, neglected you again blog!) A couple of weekends ago we had a night of snow that trapped us behind a couple feet building up on our back door. Hope your weekend is white – or at least wonderful – too.

Even though our blizzard petered-out, the kids stayed outside all day and got good and tired from snow play. Ambitious dads made snow forts, Ezra repeatedly heated up maple syrup and poured it into snow, and neighbors on our alley were shoveling for hours.
Ok I’ve been behind on posting what we were up to last weekend… we had a fun New Year’s Eve in Cornwall where Ezra stayed up (for the first time) until midnight, but Zoe crashed early. Work, home maintenance, and a host of other post holiday things have kept me from keeping the blog fresh – but I hope to do it soon. Meanwhile I leave you with these pix from our instagram feed, and have a great weekend!
