As the weekends here grow colder (yes, they already are!) we joined some friends to try on some ‘glamping’ (glamorous camping) in the woods.   I basically lived in the one pair of corduroy pants,  fleece and scarf that I packed – and my bathing suit was largely ignored.  But this was not the case for my husband and Ezra who braved the (slightly warmer) pond to try on some new and crazy water sports!  This is the last week before school starts here in NYC and – I have to say – this summer went by far far too quickly.

(a special thank you to the Marten family for letting us join along for the fun!)

Wow what an amazing 2 weeks – with some great kids who got along seamlessly for all those days and nights. And a special thanks to our hosts for putting up with us under foot for all that time! For memory’s sake here’s a recap via instagram photos by Ina Seow:

Our 4th of July was a little rained out… but nothing beats a giant beach ball to cheer the kids up.
Zoe is obsessed with me making her into a sand mermaid whenever we are anywhere near sand –

We decided to let the kids linger in CT for the week – a move that always breaks my heart a little as I hate to spend time away from them, yet at the same time they need the fresh air and space to grow. ‘Camp’ started with a visit to the local farms and animals, and lots of lake time. I’ve even asked the counselors to keep sending photos but … I assume they have their hands full. More pix to come soon – and meanwhile here’s a start of photos from my iphone:
