We took a nice easy stroll on Mother’s Day on this lovely trail – which was once a motorway for racing cars! Ezra found this particularly enthralling, and I loved NOT having to worry about the kids scooting into traffic as we walked behind them. This ‘motorway’ is now used by runners, bikers, walkers and little scooters but you can find its prior fascinating history by clicking here. We also love that the motorway connects Alley Pond Park to Cunningham Park so we got to explore a couple of new parks while we were there. We made some little ‘shelters’ in the woods while having a quick cheese-and-bread picnic, then scooted on back to our car. Somehow by being on this quiet, little-known path we felt like we were walking in a secret urban garden: kind of what the High Line in Manhattan use to be before its renovation.
