Little man is 9 today! Where the heck did all that time go? I still remember the way his fuzzy little head smelled like a freshly bathed puppy, and how (as seen in the bottom photo) he could stare at me for hours. One taste of that mamma love and I was hooked for life!

We got him a drum set for his birthday – so big-boyhood is officially underway!
Happy birthday Ezra … we love you to bits.

Remember this from last summer? This year the kids are tall enough to try more rides.
Here are some Coney Island pictures to enjoy – before the summer is over (how DID it go by so fast?!):

I seem to do this every summer don’t I? It’s that time of year again… when little Miss Fashion-Forward has me realize that putting on clothes can be fun, and not daunting. These are some of her (and my) summer favorites:

I like the swingy, flapper-style shape of this dress:

She is a bit of a terror lately … this 3 to 4 year old mark is tough.

She still manages to make her way to my bed each night, a habit we cannot seem to control. But she sure is cute when she wakes in the morning – a big warm ball of fuzzy little obstinate girl. Just waking to her world of new experiences, I can almost see the gears in her head moving when she puts some words together and (smart little thing) says “Bo-ker Tov” instead of good morning as soon as her eyes open. Then she jumps off the bed and tries to catch the sun spots in her mouth, and I realize how new she is to the world. How can I expect so much from her?

Since we’ve had a couple warm days this week I must admit, I wasn’t perusing blogs like I usually do. But these little gems did catch my eye and I had to share. Have a great weekend!

— Zoe is so into watching flowers bloom this season, I’d love to make her this hat.

A dad does hair with a vacuum. I could’ve used this for Zoe’s dance recital!

— Performance art meets soliciting on the subway. This is hilarious!

— Pretty little girl’s room.

— A very cool consignment shop in Virginia.

— Have your heard of quilling? Amazing!

— Cutest pinterest page ever of kid’s stuff.

— Time to build this in our garden – our kids would love it.

— Can’t wait to take Ezra to this fuel efficient car show. (Thanks Jill!)

Before spring break Zoe had the sweetest ballet recital. It took some convincing to get her to tone down her hair accessories and to wear only pink (and not gold and purple too). The teachers did some of their own dancing at the end and awarded their students with little bags of ballet treats, books, stickers and a tiara each!
There were some shy girls that got a little too fearful to get up and dance – but Zoe was there, pressing on with her older friend Ruby. The show must go on!
