Hi all.  We had a lovely Passover/Spring Break week in a redwood forest!  I love an outdoor seder … but this one just takes the cake.  We worked up an appetite hiking around a bit on Uncle Stan’s favorite path, then returned to food in the most beautiful woods.  In the days following, we explored beautiful Santa Rosa and saw the Luther Burbank Home and Gardens and took in all the gorgeous California foliage we could.  I hope you had a lovely spring week as well!

Isn’t it nice that Passover and Easter are coinciding again?  We are away from our ‘alley egg hunt’ this year, so I’ll miss creating bunny prints – but back soon with photos from this amazing season of renewal.  Enjoy and Peace, Paz, Pax, Happy Passover, Buona Pasqua to all…

Sorry again that I’ve lagged in posting photos but this past April Spring break week has been so full of activity, my camera and phone were back burnered.

We spent a lovely first 2 seders with cousins Alison and Stella (remember they came to see US here?)  Kansas City is amazing!  I love the Nelson Atkins Art Museum (although it was so warm outside we stayed with the Claes Oldenburg sculptures outdoors) and we had a lovely 2nd night seder outdoors – which I always love.  (It happened before a few years ago in Maryland!)  More pix of the Kansas City Zoo are to come..

We made a long and crazy road trip to Rochester – where the weather was balmy enough for a day (or 2) to hang in the hot tub. Cousin soup! It was a weekend of hiking and playing in the woods, and of course AMAZING FOOD and performances. Zoe cried when we headed home because she already misses all her big cousins wanting to carry her everywhere!

We had Passover indoors AND outdoors this year. After the kids did a play about Moses parting the sea and the 10 plagues, Zoe offered to get up and sing some Frozen tunes. Even though she didn’t have all the lyrics down, I couldn’t have been prouder of her performance AND her chutzpah! The weather was so nice that we had the 2nd half of our seder under the stars… what a great way to finish off the first night’s seder.

I couldn't be prouder!

Just back from spending the first night of Passover with cousins in the DC area – where everything is blooming a little faster. Cousins romped in the driveway, and we checked out the cherry trees blossoming in Chevy Chase. Some clever little boys even set up a lemonade stand and reaped the benefits of a lot of foot traffic. Ezra is already excited to do this again in the next few months.

Normally Fridays are reserved for Beautiful Things that we find on other blogs – but this Friday we have the most beautiful of all things to share: time with family! We spent a good part of the week traveling further south to DC and MD, hiking in nature, hanging with cousins, having a couple seders and waking to a surprising snow fall. Other than some relatives being displaced by a fire at their hotel – the weekend was pleasantly crazy with family fun.

Hooray for cousins!
