We always somehow end up at the same rooms in The Met – the knights in shining armor, the Islamic Art room (my favorite!  those blues!) modern art/painting and photography – this time around we made it a point to make it to the roof as well as to the Comme des Garcon show – It didn’t disappoint!

The roof exhibit is one by Adrian Villar Rojas – and is an amazing mix of what’s in the museum itself.  I was in awe of the fact that much of it was 3D printed and then coated with automotive paint to keep it from melting away in the (lately rainy) weather!

And the Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons show – wow – I know it didn’t often make sense to me when I saw this on the runway but as art in a museum?  Click … I suddenly get it.  Check out a walk through here:

It looked like an old theater house to me… and there were still a lot of holiday decorations abound; like sugar plums from the 40s that I seem to remember seeing at my grandmother’s house way back when.
How do they keep the dust away from these little tchotchkes? I do love the dresses…

It’s been a fun but crazy week and now we’ve got an extra long weekend due to President’s Day. We hope to get to some exciting places… especially since the sun has been shining for 3 days in a row! Meanwhile here are some fun things we found this past week. Enjoy your weekend!

— Fun cold weather project for kids: winter sun catchers.

A friend passed on her Snoopy Sno Cone machine to Ezra and Zoe, and now they are obsessed with making desserts with it. We hope to try some of these snow recipes.

Dog driving cars!

— More insanely gorgeous dresses.

— Yummy vegan valentine’s day recipes.

— I totally love the whole braiding trend.

Like last year’s selection – I just cannot get enough of Zoe’s obsession with dresses, and her need to match shoes to them. At such a young age? It’s baffling to me as to where all her ‘fashion sense’ comes from (especially when her mom has next to NO time to do the same with her own wardrobe!) This year she is very serious about choosing specific shoes and barrettes to go with each frock.
