What does Zoe do when Ezra is away at camp by day and she’s bored? Get creative of course!

It’s back to being cold here of course, and when we make that first foray to Central Park and then realize that we are freezing – it’s always great to pop into The Met Museum (again) for warmth and an afternoon of sketching sculpture.

Cup Of Jo posted this illustration by Sarah Lazarovic yesterday and it cracked me up.. it’s so true! Four seasons do not quite feel like FOUR seasons here in NYC. We had that brief blurb of spring a couple days ago… I do plan on putting some photos on the blog of our attempts to bike and get outside but it’s almost depressing that it’s already gone – that fresh warmer air.
Oh well. We will find more adventure this weekend regardless of the cold so – stay tuned. And have a great weekend.

While hanging out with our friend Brad in Connecticut, he allowed us to play with one of his Christmas gifts from his grandma. Do you remember Shrinky Dinks? Not only are they still around, but they come in more variety – including packs of large blank paper where you can create your own drawings and crafts out of them.

Coincidentally Brad’s Aunt Nan came over to the house with her own Shrinky Dink art that she exhibited in a local gallery. Check out her amazing shadow boxes filled with her own created creatures! And after finding this pinterest page of other ideas, I cannot wait to try my hand at making rings.

We saw a fun show this past weekend at an abandoned Bank of Manhattan building in LIC Queens. It happened to be a very kid friendly show about money – which Ezra is newly interested in. He is learning to count money in school and just opened his own bank account so he was excited to see the vault at this new gallery show, and Zoe loved drawing dollar bills for funhundred.org! Materials for the Arts provided lots of things to craft with…
