Some little 7 year old lady had a bit of a ‘camping, donut decorating, s’mores’ themed birthday party that was cozy and fun!  We moved the furniture around so that we could accommodate a tent with holiday lights, as well as room for small tables to decorate donuts on. We played ‘pin the cherry on the ice cream’ and had the guests decorate a giant card for Zoe when they first arrived.  And of course a game of Twister in the mix doesn’t hurt either!
Happy 7th birthday gorgeous little gal!

I feel like last October we ran amok with wayyyyy too many pumpkin outings. This fall we are wrangling with a beast of a house renovation and tons of packing so this may be one of the very few pumpkin posts for this year. Let’s see how it all goes with getting out of Home Depot and into the fall foliage this month. Meanwhile here are some shots of our trip back to Hank’s, where we at least got a taste of the season (and some pumpkin and apple-cider donuts – yum!)

Are you going to take in the scents and tastes of fall this weekend? More cider and donuts and smelling fruit that has started to hit the ground for us… have a great weekend.

I’m pretty disappointed that we couldn’t return to the Hamptons Barn (where my husband and I were married, and where we have frolicked with family and friends in past summers). We had a summer full of work, and Jewish holidays came earlier this year.. making it near impossible to get out there for tomato season (and ya know how I love my tomatoes!) We did however try like h*ll to get out there for some pumpkin picking – although this year was not as warm as Octobers of the past so we really felt like we were harvesting crops before the winter cold comes! Hank’s warm Pumpkin Spice Donuts really hit the spot when it’s cold outside.

Have a lovely weekend!

While in the Rochester area we checked out this farm for some autumn fun… because fall just isn’t FALL without some pumpkin picking and doughnut eating, am I right? There were a lot of play horses and things to ride on, a giant slide off of a mountain of hay, and don’t even get me started on the doughnuts (and warm cider!)
We loved it – although we could’ve done without Corny the Clown soaking us with his tractor hose in 40 degree rainy weather at the end of our visit. I now see where my fear of clowns comes from.
