Normally Fridays are reserved for Beautiful Things that we find on other blogs – but this Friday we have the most beautiful of all things to share: time with family! We spent a good part of the week traveling further south to DC and MD, hiking in nature, hanging with cousins, having a couple seders and waking to a surprising snow fall. Other than some relatives being displaced by a fire at their hotel – the weekend was pleasantly crazy with family fun.

Hooray for cousins!

Hooray for cousins!

This was one of the only sites that we got to see in DC – and it was very moving. Regretfully we took our car to DC on one of the busiest weekends of the year, so parking was near impossible and took up too much of our time. I think in the future we will park and take the metro and scoot (as we are more accustomed to doing) – that way we could cover more ground (like The Mall and other DC sites/Smithsonian Museums). But I have to say… this was definitely worth the challenge to park. Ezra remembered all that he had learned last month and in January about MLK, so he could enjoy it all the more.
This new memorial is an elegant tribute to an important American: see more about it by clicking here.
