We were back at the Museum of Modern Art seeing the Matisse exhibit – although frankly on weekends the exhibit is too crowded for kids. Instead we stopped in to the kid friendly Cut Out workshop going on near the media center, and explored our “Matisse selves” with paper and fabric:

I’ve always wanted to see how a school works. It’s been so long since I’ve been in grammar school and it’s all so different now. The communication about how Ezra’s day goes is – well, we don’t get much out of Ezra and it’s hard to get the teachers to really break it all down for us. I’m not allowed to volunteer in Ezra’s class (that would be way too distracting for both he and I). I got to help a 2nd grade teacher instead — and it’s been fun AND enlightening. I feel like I get to see how the school works ‘from the inside’. Imagine how happy I was when the teacher asked me to decorate a bulletin board full of the kids’ writing projects! With a spring theme of course –
