We found the best little playground just outside Harvard Square. Nothing gets Zoe and Ezra going more than a whole ton of sand to frolic in – not to mention that there are pulleys and pails all over Cambridge Commons Playground to play with. Check out the cool front gate with the ‘mini-door’ for kids. It’s no wonder Zoe napped for about 2 hours on the ride home to NYC!

Despite all the rain in NYC, we did manage to get a bright sunny day in the Boston area this past Sunday. We were back in Harvard Square romping around and getting some more good eats at Clover. The kids got to see Papa again, which they love because he cracks out the harmonica from time to time and gets them excited and dancing.

We found a new Curious George Store in Harvard Square and finally got to take a peek inside! Needless to say the theme alone had the kids psyched to take a ‘shopping break’ — and we hung out in the reading nook for awhile before buying some books.

While in Cambridge we came across this really great hat shop called Goorin Bros. Walking into the store was like taking a trip back in time, or walking on to a period movie set!

This past weekend was the first time that we really got to drag my dad out of his comfort zone and make him join us while we explored Harvard Square some more. This ‘crowded student’s neighborhood’ (my dad’s words) is a lot of fun – and let’s face it, it feels like a big diverse city which is just exactly what we are use to and what we love to explore! Add some spring blossoms and it was a picture-perfect weekend as well.

No trip to Boston is complete without my dad wanting to bring us to S&S Restaurant in Inman Square. I couldn’t help but take some photos of the shops around Inman Square – mainly Boutique Fabulous at 1309 Cambridge Street and the quirky little bookstore next door (Lorem Ipsum) with the excellent window display. Boutique Fabulous had seriously cute pendant lamps that were vintage and then others that were more affordable paper lanterns. And they have a selection of incredible petticoats made of tulle that made me want to get into a tutu with Zoe for Halloween some year.
