Isn’t it nice that Passover and Easter are coinciding again?  We are away from our ‘alley egg hunt’ this year, so I’ll miss creating bunny prints – but back soon with photos from this amazing season of renewal.  Enjoy and Peace, Paz, Pax, Happy Passover, Buona Pasqua to all…

I’d forgotten to post some pix from our synagogue’s Purim Carnival… always a fun event, and colorful in that the kids get to make their masks and costumes and nosh on jam filled hamantaschen. Enjoy some pix of one of the Jewish Holidays that – at least in this year -seems to usher in spring!

Some believe we should all pray to solve this, and others realize that these kids will be voting age soon. The future looks bright –

Hopefully the voices of all of the nation’s students will be heard and meaningful action can be taken to insure that all of our children, teachers and school staff are safe when they go about the business of educating the youth of our country.

from Ezra’s school newsletter this month –
Students Stand United Against Gun Violence
In an action of solidarity with students across the nation, Renaissance high school students staged a peaceful walk-out to protest the lax gun control laws which many feel have played a part in the number of violent gun incidents, especially in schools. The walk-out on Wednesday marked the one-month anniversary of the mass shooting in Parkland, FL, and our students were joined by teachers, as well as staff from the offices of Councilmember Dromm and Senator Peralta. Students took part in a number of other actions prior to the march, including participating in a Town Hall with Mayor De Blasio and attending a press conference that Congressman Joseph Crowley held at Renaissance the day before the march (he followed this up with a post on Facebook!).

Students Loren Francione and Nico Cortez spoke eloquently about the desire of students to feel safe and their hopes that there will be better gun laws soon. Read their statements HERE.

Via our Instagram feed…if you haven’t already seen it:

We had a shockingly warm day in late Feb that had us hopeful – grilling outdoors mid-winter is pretty great:

-But then there was more of this lovely view from our front window, happening more frequently now:

Relying on the goings on in our hood to entertain the kids, like this super fun ‘Drag Queen Story Hour‘ that packed the house at the local library:

And of course my husband has another great show up, and I help him out when we don’t have a ladder (this pix caught by bystander Ezra) :

Hope you are having a fun late winter as well!

While in Boston during President’s Day, we had to check out the next nearest presidential library of course. This sun filled atrium was designed by IM Pei (who did the World Trade Center and the glass pyramid at the Louvre – is still alive and working at age 100, and his son’s office is upstairs from where I work.) Aside from the amazing view and architecture, the library is filled with letters and political cartoons as well as Jacqueline’s elegant things. Zoe very quickly got hooked to Jackie as you can see ..

Have a great weekend everyone!

We made a little getaway during the beginning of Feb break. It was cold, but when bundled up .. the beaches in East Chatham and Welfleet area is the best place to be in the middle of winter! And even though many of the seasonal restaurants were closed, P Town always has great art everywhere. We ate at our favorite place The Canteen again (open year round!), and as always – the crispy spicy Brussels sprouts did not disappoint. Even Louie loves Cape Cod now!

(thank you Auntie Betty for hosting!)
