Some little 7 year old lady had a bit of a ‘camping, donut decorating, s’mores’ themed birthday party that was cozy and fun!  We moved the furniture around so that we could accommodate a tent with holiday lights, as well as room for small tables to decorate donuts on. We played ‘pin the cherry on the ice cream’ and had the guests decorate a giant card for Zoe when they first arrived.  And of course a game of Twister in the mix doesn’t hurt either!
Happy 7th birthday gorgeous little gal!

While en route home we stopped off at a duckpin bowling alley in Danbury Ct.   Haven’t heard of duckpin?  This was such a part of my Massachusetts childhood (see here.)

This bowling alley seemed to be frozen in time… somewhere in the 60s!  It was great to feel like I was a kid again – tallying our own bowling scores without that screen overhead and sitting on this amazing fiberglass molded bench that I want to take home!  Add the photos of bowling teams in bee hive hairdos and the holiday decorations from my childhood and I felt like I was sitting in a movie set.  And oh yeah, the kids love bowling with smaller balls and pins at the same time –

Happy New Year!

We got back from sunny Florida and headed to Connecticut for a great NYE party.  By the next morning there was enough blanket of snow to go out for a New Year’s Day fat burning snow hike.  We had our new friend Jem the rescue dog in tow for a walk (owned by our friend Tom) and explored the snowy fields and frozen lake, and a tree full of frozen-in-time icicles!  Back to the grind..
