It was maybe exactly 10 years ago that me and my husband first went to this amazing place, with my belly full of Ezra and the summer stretched ahead of us.  We finally got to return – and this time with a grown Ezra and little Zoe. My kids love flowers and gardens and wide open spaces so this weekend romp was a hit.   Zoe loves the little pink playhouse with its own lavender gardens. By the time we made it to the Coe Hall Historic House I felt as if I were roaming around some place in Europe and it’s no wonder.. it was totally created to look like an English Castle by its first owners.

Our neighbor and friend (and great art teacher!) Deborah had a show at Socrates Sculpture Park.  It was so nice to contribute to her work by donating clothing to ‘clean’ in the river, AND the kids helped her carry loads back and forth to the water and then to the line.  Being part of the art!  There were other amazing pieces on display there for the summer including a baby grand piano that’s been turned into a home for bees!

I have no idea why it took us so long to check out this race car track in Cornwall, Ct area – one that Paul Newman use to frequent, and that we can hear (wheels squealing on the track) from the ‘cation house‘ in the spring and summer time.   It was a hot Sunday over Memorial Day weekend but the heat didn’t stop us (Ezra especially) from enjoying all the classic and current cars on display:
