On the A, E and C line at 14th Street in Manhattan one can find these adorable sculptural ‘critters’ all over the platform. Ezra adores them – see more about them by clicking here.

As if NYC needs another brilliant candy store, right? (Remember our trip to this one and this one?) Well while walking around the upper east side we were drawn into this great place. Zoe is still obsessing about getting her ears pierced… just to be able to get the sweet cupcake packaging with a new pair of earrings. And both mom AND daughter want a dress made of candy now! Have a sweet weekend –
We stopped in on a show that is all about how photographs are shared today, compared to how photos have been used in the past. Public Eye: 175 Years of Sharing Photography really had me reflecting on my own use of this blog and instagram… and how little photo archive I have of my own childhood compared to the mass of photos I have of my own children. Part of me always wishes I had the time to print photos and put them into albums the old fashioned way – so that the kids can access them constantly but let’s face it – I can store more images electronically in the end. Will this medium always be here or what new platform will come along?
In a gesture of hope I packed away the kids’ snowsuits… not far out of reach, but cleaned up and put away hoping they won’t be needed. And of course, it is right now snowing again. Argh. When will this winter end? I noted that last May Zoe was still wearing sweater tights and a long sleeved shirt so .. what was I thinking?! Enjoy the weekend –

Once again E and Z’s dad scored us some early viewing tickets to Cinderella. The kids were encouraged to dress up like prince and princess and we had some free popcorn and soda. The movie by the way is gorgeous… the costumes are amazing. And Helena Bonham Carter as the fairy godmother, Cate Blanchett as the step mother? Incredible casting! If you asked the kids for their reviews it would go pretty much like this: Ezra loved the talking mice, and Zoe loved the big blue swirly dress. There’s a sweet little short film about Elsa and Anna to start the show as well, which the kids also loved.

Well shortly after writing about our blustery snowy day, we started to see a bit of a thaw here in NYC. As my family in Boston deals with breaking a snow record with their 108 inches of snow as of Sunday, we are started to see tiny buds of tulips coming up on the front lawn and the alley is wet from all the melting snow. Will it last – or is this just March being tempestuous again? I dread the idea of a rogue snowstorm in April!
