We went to Brad’s nonna’s house for a little dinner. We love her upright piano and all her gorgeous paintings… thanks nonna for dinner and for a good time!
That screened in porch – I want to sleep in it. What are YOU up to this weekend?

I can’t believe how lush and green this lake got in just a matter of two weeks. Ezra and Brad finally got to play with a Solar UFO Balloon that we got for the holidays, and Zoe met a couple of new sister girlfriends. And Ezra learned to kayak on his own! I know, a little scary.. but a mom has to let kids do these things on their own little by little… right? (Gulp!)

One of my great regrets in life may be that I never was able to have a house with a large enough yard to accommodate Ezra’s undying love for these kid ATVs. His friend had one years ago, and Ezra got hooked on driving it around and around a large yard. He came home to the city and I think he fantasized about driving it to school — picking up friends as he rode along. Now he’s almost too large – note his knees coming up so high – yet he loves riding. While we were in Boston for cousin Paul’s birthday even Zoe and Sophia got hooked! And I love how well the girls play with each other – cousins born just 6 months apart.

Sorry I’ve lagged in my blogging. This week I hope to get on photos from the past 2 weekends… in Boston and in Cornwall. Lots of frolicking outdoors now that finally we can – without coats. It’s amazing.
This shot of Zoe says it all – her dad took this with his iPhone late last week. After a couple hours of school he found her napping on the back of our couch like this .. it reminded me of The Far Side cartoon ‘boneless chicken ranch‘. Let’s hope our summer schedule calms down a bit!

I feel like we’ve been watching this giant ice cube melt for MONTHS. Finally the water is flowing and the dads even jumped into the freezing water. We had a weekend of on and off rain… but when it was sunny it was great to pull the canoes out.
Now if only we could get those docks back out into the lake.

Mmmmm we love the smell of warm dirt and turning over new grass. We tend to offer to help out with our friend’s garden because it’s just too fun to dig in all that moist soil. We took apart a vegetable garden that’s been neglected for at least 8 years… and the kids took breaks by getting back on the big swing. It’s beginning to look a lot like growth and warmth season is really here!
Enjoy the weekend.
