When I first moved to NYC in the early 90s , one would think of graffiti if I suggested ‘subway art’. Nowadays ‘subway art’ most likely refers to the MTA’s Art for Transit Program which advertises local artists’ works on the inside of the trains, or in tidied up subway stations. I just recently saw this poster by Sophie Blackall and loved it. Maybe it’s the pretty, children’s book-like quality that I liked… or maybe because that little boy in the purple shirt reminded me of Ezra.
See more of Sophie’s beautiful work here – and have a lovely weekend!
